Temple of Kom-Ombo – Another day of Creation
The Temple of Kom-Ombo is filled with hieroglyphics of Horace (representing the Light) and Sobek (representing the Dark).
The building is unique because it was built as a double temple. There were courts, halls, sanctuaries
and rooms duplicated for both gods, Horus, the falcon god and Sobek the god of
fertility and creator of the world.
Everything is perfectly symmetrical along the main axis, having this be
a very atypical temple.
This temple is all about
duality. We see this duality in
everything. You cannot have the
light without darkness. It is only
through comparison that either exists.
Some call this duality the yin and the yang, God and Satan, good and
evil, etc.
The stronger the light, the stronger the dark. There were also hieroglyphics showing Sekhmet, who is the warrior goddess. She who is powerful. She was feeding Horace the Keys of life. Symbolizing that we must embrace the darkness.
Here I began to think about the questions I ask myself in times of challenges or the darkness? How can I begin to embrace the darkness?
How does this serve me? This may seem really difficult at times, like there is absolutely nothing that serves me about this situation, but I just ask myself again, if I wanted this to serve me, then how would it?
What can I learn from this situation? Embrace and leverage the challenges.
How will I use it going forward
to give me a better life? This is
embracing the darkness and by doing this you will be more magnetic.
The whole time that I explored this temple, I continued to take a look at my intention and determining what is the anti-intention. How can I embrace the dark and the light?
One of the things that came up for me was if my intention is to be magnificent, then the anti-intention is worrying about if people like me. If I embrace the dark and surrender to whether people like me or not then I will experience more of the magnificence. Also I began to take a look at the question, “What price will I pay for achieving my intention?” If there is a prize, there is always a cost.
I also stumbled upon several places where there were imprints of feet in the stone. It is said that when you step into these imprints that you will receive healing energy. I tried it several times and definitely felt a shift in the energy.
