Mary is a forty-something divorced mother of two. She's fit, with brown hair and a pleasant smile. Her life has been rather predictable -- mid-west Christian upbringing in a good family, married right out of college, suburban home, gave up her carrer aspiration to raise her two children who are now in college. She and her husband became a divorce statistic two years ago. Mary's life was ordinary until this month. While playing tennis in the "Over 40" Doubles League, Mary's partner and best friend, Anne, collapsed on the court and died. At the funeral, Mary's grief gave way to waves of doubt and soul-searching. She realized the life the preacher extolled sounded just like hers, and the face in the coffin could have been her own. Mary thought "there has to be more to life this" and now she's determined to find it. Armed with a steady income from the divorce and the kids secure in college, Mary is setting out to travel the globe looking for answers and adventures.
