Faith
Faith is extremely suspicious of everyone she has a relationship with, to the point that she gets more out of the hunt for negative information than the relationship itself. Faith did not have much religious presence in her upbringing. Her father is a man of scientist and agnostic, in stark contrast to her mother who is Southern Baptist and rather old fashioned. Due to the parent’s religious disagreement, they decided not to push religion on Faith or her older sister. Her mother would privately spew religious rhetoric when lecturing Faith in a judgmental manner; hence Faith’s association with religion is not a positive one. Faith has no strong spiritual belief, but she takes “signs” very seriously as part of her paranoia. Overly analytical, Faith believes that her actions can produce almost karma-like outcomes and lives in fear for the repercussions of her actions. Faith’s first boyfriend cheated on her and ever since then she has been highly skeptical of the men in her life. She goes to great lengths to procure information and gets herself in very troublesome situations in the process. Most other people in Faith’s life have no idea about what she spends her time doing. Her best friend is the only one she confides in about her obsessive disorder. She has even involved her friend in some of her disguised “stake outs.” She keeps a file of all the dirt she finds on her computer and changes the file’s extension to her initials since she is paranoid someone might find it. She would probably make a fantastic intelligence officer, but she is only motivated to use her efforts in her personal affairs. She gets her pleasure in life from knowing the absolute truth and having the upper hand on those who deceive her. Faith is very computer savvy, she enjoys playing chess, and she finds bargain shopping very satisfying. Her obsessive, extracurricular behavior has robbed Faith from having any quality of life. Though she feels compelled to keep pursuing her missions, she longs to be free of this compulsion.
